‘A Tricky Threshold’ has had a somewhat drawn-out route to publication: perhaps due to the implications of the paper’s proposed ‘new paradigm’ for the understanding of Near-Death Experiences. New paradigms usually require surrender as a means to acquisition and this can be understandably unsettling: particularly if what is suggested as a fresh direction for research includes the traversing of unknown – even dangerous – territory and the abandonment of familiar and cherished notions and taken-for-granted assumptions. The paper was published in The Christian Parapsychologist in September 2018 and was originally presented as a talk at the West Midlands Region Conference of the Churches Fellowship for Psychical and Spiritual Studies on 6th May 2017.
‘Christian Parapsychology and the Philosophy of Mind’ was originally entitled ‘Going Beyond Physics: A Twenty-First Century Challenge to Christian Parapsychology’ and was written especially for The Christian Parapsychologist where it appeared in the March 2016 issue.
‘Reached by the Real’ was originally given as a talk at Birmingham’s NEC as part of the Easter 2016 Annual Conference of the Unitarian Society for Psychical Studies.
